Give me a face mask and a nicely chilled glass (or bottle) of Sauvignon Blanc and you won’t hear from me for the rest of the night! As I type this review, my face is currently indulging in the Pore-Purifying Mask which is currently my favourite (gray one) from the trio. Vichy just recently launched 3 brand new mineral-infused masks for hydration, purification, and brightening and I got the first hand at trying them out so I’ll be sharing my experience with you guys!
Quenching Mineral Mask
This mask includes the signature Vichy mineralizing thermal water and Vitamin B3. I usually like to use this mask mid-week because I know its super light but it really does an amazing job at hydrating and refreshing my skin. Any gel based masks are super great during summer time because they do the best job at really bringing back hydration into your skin. Because this mask has Vitamin B3 I find that it calms inflammation and brightens my skin tone. Especially after a long day outside it does take a toll on your face so I find that this mask soothes perfectly. In addition to that, because it contains glycerin and mint, it cools your face so if you suffer from sun burns or too much sun exposure I would recommend giving this mask a try. You can leave this mask on for about 5 minutes and then gently rub in the excess into your skin. I usually like to do a thin/light layer.
This mask is my favourite out of the three. I’m a huge fan of clay masks in general – I just find that they work best for my skin and it feels like your at your very own personal spa. The key magic ingredients in this mask are Kaolin and Bentonite white clays and aloe vera. Of course, as you all know aloe vera is a very popular ingredient used for soothing and hydrating your skin. Kaolin and Bentonite are best known for absorbing impurities and contracting pores. I feel that these two are probably my main target areas so I try to do as much as I can to minimize the overall appearance of them on my skin. After I do the mask I definitely feel like my skin is alot more softer and cleaner. I like that it doesn’t dry out my skin like some masks tend to. I’ve been using this in combination with my Kiehl’s personalized facial concentrate and have definitely noticed less visible pores. I like to use this mask on Sundays to wash all the crap I’ve put on my face within the week. It says you’re only suppose to leave it on for 5 min but I like to leave it for 10 min sometimes 12.
The smell of this mask is so nice and the ingredients are definitely super luxe! It contains volcanic rock and fruit acid AHA. The AHA acts as the peeling ingredients and gently peels off any dead cells that may build up on your skin. The mechanical peeling with the volcanic rock gently exfoliates the dead skin cells and strips them off your skin eliminates impurities and leaving you with a brighter and fresher complexion. The Vitamin C in this mask brightens your skin tone and leaves your skin feeling radiant and smoother. Again, leave this mask on for about 5 min and then take it off however I usually leave it on for about 10-12 min.
You can use the masks separately or even use them as a combination! I love the idea of mix & matching the masks for the ultimate customized skin treatment. Have you guys tried any Vichy masks before? Leave your thoughts and comments down below!
