Hi my beauties!
// You know one thing I just absolutely LOVE about blogging is the amount of support and love that is shown from the blogging community.  I wanted to write a post about a new product I tried but I wanted to involve all my lovely followers and readers!  So, about two weeks ago I took my experiment to Twitter and asked you guys what your favorite brands of foundations are.  I got tons and tons of great advice and recommendations.  I received a variety of high-end and low-end price products.  You guys are amazing and THANK YOU!!
For a while now, I have been meaning to try something new with regards to foundation.  I was leaning more towards a higher end product, or at least a product you can buy at Sephora.  When you really think about it, I’m spending somewhere around $20-25 on drugstore brands such as Revlon, Maybelline, Covergirl, Almay etc. and the higher end foundations usually go for about $30-45 so I figured why not try something different? Right…and common…like who is really going to say NO to exploring at Sephora – definitely not me!! 🙂  A lot of you suggested great products that I have yet to try.  I was at Sephora and was comparing about 3 different ones.  Out of Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, and Makeup Forever, I decided on Makeup Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation.

MAKE UP FOREVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation

So here’s the scoop – with the help of all you guys I finally decided which brand I was going to go with, then it was time to find my right shade.  Now ladies don’t be overwhelmed with the big choice of very similar shades at the Makeup Forever section.  It’s so easy to get lost and frustrated and go with the one that you think looks closest but actually is either 4 shades to light or too dark.  They say that you should test the foundation on your hand but I feel like my hands are a different shade than my face/neck.   What I really recommend is to go into Sephora or whatever department store you wish with a completely bare face.  As horrid as this sounds it will definitely help you better with picking your shade and don’t be afraid to TRY TRY TRY.  Here the great thing about Makeup Forever is that nobody does color matching like Make Up Forever.  The color selection is the best and in addition to different shades, they also offer different undertones so you can find your perfect match.
It has been about a week since I have been using the Makeup Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation (COLOR N125 Sand – for light skin with beige undertones) and I have noticed DRASTIC results.  It provides oil-free medium-to-full-coverage.   I really believe, from my experience, that this is the holy grail of foundations.  I use it for every day wear as well as going out at night.  It goes on very flawlessly and lightweight, but excellent luminous coverage.  As I have mentioned in my previous posts, I have combination skin with a very oily t-zone and this foundation holds up extremely well. You can apply it with either a brush or a BeautyBlender and it looks flawless either way.  Personally, I prefer the BeautyBlender because it is guaranteed to not leave behind any streaking.  For those of you who don’t want to be flashed out in photos, because of the flawless finish this foundation can withstand bright or harsh lighting.

MAKE UP FOREVER HD Microperfecting Primer

Along with the foundation, I figured I just HAD to buy a primer to go with it.  My usual go-to primer is the bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer or the Benefit Cosmetics Stay Flawless 15 – Hour Primer.  I have been using these two for as long as I can remember and considered them part of my everyday makeup must haves.  Once I stumbled upon the HD Microperfecting Primer, I fell in love! If you guys haven’t tried it yet I seriously recommend it!  Makeup Forever has AMAZING primers and now that I’ve tried it, I can safely say that this primer is THE BEST I’ve ever tried hands down.
One of the main reasons why I just ADORE this primer is because it comes in 8 different colors.  Each color has its own task.  I picked the green primer because it minimizes minimizes redness and it is ideal for people who have skin with rosacea.  It does a great job minimizing the redness but it won’t completely get rid of it.  It is a very lightweight and oil-free primer (with an amazing scent) that glides on ever so smoothly.  it deeply nourishes, moisturizes, and softens the skin, creating a glowing effect.  This primer is light and absorbs quickly into my skin, making it feel fresh and clean.  I like that I can still use a moisturizer underneath this and it doesn’t feel overly greasy or like “too much” on my skin. It absorbs quickly and provides a great primer for my foundation.
I was hesitant about purchasing this product because of the price, but when it comes to quality I am more inclined to buy a product. Overall, I am very HAPPY with this purchase.  For those of you who don’t particularly seem too keen on spending a lot on a primer (like me), I highly recommend this product (even with the high price) because I feel like I can really see a big change all over! I would say buy this! a little product goes a long way and it does have a lot of product in the packaging so it is worth the $39. \\
